SAN ANTONIO - During the dog days of summer, a quick downpour can be a relief, KSAT Meteorologist Sarah Spivey says.
Mix in the fact that the aquifer level is dropping daily, and the conclusion is simple: we NEED rain!
The good news is that we'll have a decent chance for rain today.
Thanks to an "inverted trough" -- meteorology speak for a little extra spin in the air -- areas west of San Antonio will see isolated showers today.
While most of us will miss out on the rain, the low pressure system will create mostly cloudy skies, keeping temperatures in the mid-90s.
However, we will have a little more humidity than we have had over the past few days so heat index values will push past 100.
This pattern of spotty rain will continue tomorrow, with drier weather Friday and Saturday.
We'll have a shake-up in the weather pattern Sunday and Monday, bringing another chance for rain.
