The storm developed south of San Antonio during the afternoon hours and made its way across Bexar County between 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Viewer pictures show hail the size of baseballs in Leon Valley, the Medical Center and portions of the West Side.

The National Weather Service did issue multiple warnings for Atascosa, Bexar and Comal counties.

By 9 p.m. the all the storms had dissipated, though another chance of severe storms is forecast for Tuesday.

A shortwave of energy will approach the region and isolated to scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop late Tuesday afternoon and evening. Not everyone is South Texas will see the rain, but any storm that develops likely could become severe. The main threats will be large hail and straight-line winds. However, an isolated spin-up of a brief tornado can’t be ruled out.

Development of storms will begin late Tuesday and could last into the morning hours. Storms will end from west to east by late Wednesday morning.

A dryline will push through South Texas behind the storms. This will cause hot and dry conditions with lots of sunshine by Wednesday afternoon.
