Toasty Father's Day on tap, then we monitor increasing rain chances next week ~ Mia
WEATHER HEADLINES:
• Nearing 100° on Father's Day
• Monitoring tropical moisture next week
• Scattered downpours possible by Wednesday and Thursday
FORECAST DETAILS:
Hope you're having a great start to this toasty Father's Day Weekend!
After starting off in the upper 70s, highs will reach for 100° Sunday afternoon, with feels like temperatures in the range of 101° - 105°. Stay cool if you have any plans with dad! A stray shower can't be ruled out in the afternoon, but the vast majority of us will miss out.
A few isolated showers and storms will be possible early next week before better chances for scattered downpours arrive by Wednesday and Thursday. This setup will ultimately depend on how a tropical disturbance in the Western Gulf evolves, but for now we'll call it a 40% - 60% chance during this timeframe.
There are still some details that will need to be finetuned as we get a clearer picture of how far north or south this system will track and how much tropical moisture it's able to send into the region. While this range may need to be adjusted, it's currently looking like 1" - 2" of rain could fall across parts of the area with the higher totals situated the farther south you go.
We'll keep you posted! Until then -- have a great night. ~ Mia
