Billy Joel, Sting to play at Alamodome in October

Double billing scheduled for Friday, Oct. 25, 2024

SAN ANTONIO – Alamodome officials, in partnership with Live Nation, announced on Thursday that Billy Joel and Sting will be performing at the Alamodome for one night in October.

The double-billing concert will take place on Friday, Oct. 25, 2024. Officials made the announcement during a live press conference. You can view the press conference by clicking on the video player above.

Joel, nicknamed the “Piano Man,” is one of the world’s best-selling music artists and is the fourth-best-selling solo artist in the United States with over 160 million records sold worldwide. His 1985 compilation album, “Greatest Hits – Volume I & Volume II” is one of the best-selling albums in the United States.

The last time Joel played in the Alamodome was back in 1994.

Sting is an English musician with 17 Grammy Awards, four Brits, a Golden Globe, an Emmy, four Oscar nominations, a TONY nomination and has sold 100 million albums from his combined work with The Police and as a solo artist.

It’s been 17 years since Sting has performed in the Alamo City, and this will be his first performance at the Alamodome.

Tickets for the concert will be available starting on Friday, Feb. 2 at 10 a.m.

Joel is also releasing new music for the first time in 17 years as he previously had announced that his new single, “Turn The Lights Back On,” will also come out on Feb. 1. You’ll be able to stream the songs, as well as buy it as a 7-inch vinyl.
