Tuesday, many of the young artists gathered in the hospital's patient activity room to bring their creations alive.

"We are proud to share these special cards, made with loving hands to our amazing patients," said Marcy Doderer, Vice President and Administrator of CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Children's Hospital.

Ten of the most creative cards will be selected, then put to an online vote, made possible with the help of Kinetic Concepts, Inc.

"These children are the heart and soul of the 'Cards for Kids' program," said Kevin Belgrade, Vice President of Corporate Communications and Community Affairs for KCI. "I think we can all appreciate the love and hope that goes into this artwork," said Belgrade.

Voting will begin November 7 on the Cards for Kids website, and ends on Monday, November 21. One finalist's card will be featured each morning on Good Morning San Antonio, with information on how to go online and vote for your favorite. The online votes will be tallied, and the top three cards announced on Tuesday, November 22. Those cards will be available for online purchase from November 22 to December 2.

A set of 10 cards will sell for $10. All proceeds will benefit the CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Children's Hospital Foundation, which supports a variety of programs for young patients in San Antonio and South Texas.
