Woman found stabbed to death in SE Side home ID'd

Courtney Phillips, 22, stabbed in neck; wound not self-inflicted, police say

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police have identified a woman who was found stabbed to death Sunday afternoon in her Southeast Side home.

A police spokeswoman said Courtney Phillips, 22, was found unresponsive in the home in the 200 block of Edge Avenue around 4:30 p.m.

Investigators said she had been stabbed in the neck and that the wound was not self-inflicted. She was pronounced dead at the home.

SAPD officials at the scene said the man who found her body called 911 and was later taken in for questioning. Police said he was not considered a suspect, but a person of interest.
