Man wanted for sex assault on child in Real County

Javier Oliva-Resendez, 41, wanted for aggravated sexual assault of a child

SAN ANTONIO – It's been more than six years since a teen girl told investigators she was attacked by a man in her bedroom. While she has identified the alleged suspect, authorities said he has gone into hiding.

Javier Oliva-Resendez, 41, is wanted on a charge of aggravated sexual assault of a child in Real County.

"Reports alleged that Resendez sexually assaulted a female child after sneaking into her bedroom while she slept. The victim was under the age of 14 years old," said Deputy United States Marshal Chris Bozeman.

A grand jury indicted Resendez in February 2009.

"A warrant was issued for Resendez's arrest, but he fled to avoid prosecution," said Bozeman.

Resendez is 5'5" tall and weighs 130 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.

"His last known place of residence was here in Texas, but he also has significant ties in Florida and Mexico," said Bozeman.

If you have any information on his whereabouts, call the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force at 210-657-8500.
