Woman discovers 12+ foot alligator along Texas coast while jogging

PORT ARANSAS, Texas – An alligator measuring 12 feet, 2 inches was discovered by a woman who was out for a morning jog on Monday.

This particular reptile was spotted in Port Aransas in a drainage culvert underneath Hwy 361 near the nature preserve at Charlie’s Pasture.

Alligators are native to the Texas coastal region but as the Port Aransas Facebook page says, "You just don’t expect to see a 12 foot one when you’re out for your morning jog.”

The alligator was safely relocated to the nearby nature preserve.
