4 people hospitalized in 3-vehicle crash on Northeast Side, San Antonio police say

Crash occurred around 9:45 p.m. near intersection of Walzem Road, Mesquite Farm Road

SAN ANTONIO – Four people were taken to an area hospital following a multi-vehicle crash on the city’s Northeast Side late Tuesday night, San Antonio police said.

The crash occurred around 9:45 p.m. near the intersection of Walzem Road and Mesquite Farm Road, not far from Eisenhauer Road and New World Drive.

According to police, a Nissan sedan was traveling at a high-rate of speed when it ran a red light and collided with a pickup truck and another sedan.

Police said a family of three was inside the pickup truck when it was hit and rolled over. The family was taken to Northeast Baptist Hospital with minor injuries, and an adult man from inside the Nissan sedan was taken to Brooke Army Medical Center with serious injuries.

The driver of the other sedan had no reported injuries, police said.

The San Antonio Police Department, the San Antonio Fire Department, and EMS all answered the call.

SAPD did not say if any charges will be filed. The investigation is ongoing, police said.
