Santikos Silverado to be remodeled with new upscale entertainment options

SAN ANTONIO – The Santikos Silverado movie theatre at Bandera and Loop 1604 is getting a facelift that will not only improve the movie-watching experience but will also bring other entertainment options like bowling and an arcade.

“It’s time to go big and give our guests in this area of town something they don’t have,” said Santikos CEO Tim Handren.

Phase one of the two-phase project will start on Sept. 6 and will focus on creating a luxury-focused environment for visitors.

The auditoriums will gain enhanced sound features and laser projection upgrades. Three theatre auditoriums will implement giant screens, 4K laser projection, and enhanced sound features. The current seats will be upgraded to kick-back recliners, according to a news release.

There will also be brand-new VIP auditoriums available for private events.

Phase two includes the creation of the family entertainment center. According to a news release, the entertainment center will implement an enhanced arcade section featuring over 60 games, a top-of-the-line sports bar, and bowling lanes.

Santikos will continue serving customers throughout the remodeling process.
