Amazon users can say ‘Alexa, Thank My Driver’ to give each driver $5 during the holiday season

There is no additional charge to thank the driver; most-thanked drivers will also get $10,000

During the holidays, delivery drivers work as hard as Santa’s elves to get packages distributed on time.

This December, Amazon users can not only thank their drivers personally, but also tip while doing so.

Customers can say “Alexa, Thank My Driver” to thank the person who delivered their most recent package.

The first one million drivers thanked will receive $5 each, according to a news release. Drivers can be thanked multiple times.

The “Alexa, Thank My Driver” promotion is at no cost to the customer.

“Amazon recently hit a major package milestone – 15 billion Amazon packages delivered in the U.S,” Amazon said in a news release. “To celebrate and thank the incredible drivers who play an important role drivers delivering on behalf of Amazon play in their communities, Amazon is providing customers with the opportunity to do so each and every day as well, with the help of Alexa.”

The five drivers who receive the most “thank yous” will also be given $10,000 for themselves and another $10,000 for a charity of their choice.

Customers who don’t have an Alexa device can thank their delivery driver in the Alexa or Amazon Shopping mobile app.

The promotion started on Wednesday.
