Motorcyclist killed in head-on crash with car in Converse, police say

Crash happened around 12:40 a.m. near Crestway Road, Gibbs Sprawl Road

CONVERSE, Texas – A motorcyclist is dead following a head-on crash with a car in Converse early Thursday morning, according to the Converse Police Department.

The crash happened around 12:40 a.m. near Gibbs Sprawl Road and Crestway Road.

According to police, a man on a motorcycle was traveling on Gibbs Sprawl Road when he crashed head-on with a car, throwing him. Police said EMS tried to help, but he died at the scene.

The Converse Police Department said the driver of the car was not hurt and found not to be intoxicated. No charges are expected to be filed.

A traffic investigation team is now working to determine exactly how and why the crash occurred.

The Converse Police Department, the Converse Fire Department and EMS all responded to the call.

The name of the man killed has not yet been released.
