Prescribed burns at Joint Base San Antonio-Camp Bullis canceled for January

BEXAR COUNTY, Texas – All prescribed burns scheduled for Joint Base San Antonio-Camp Bullis in January have been canceled.

Initially set to continue until Friday, Jan. 24, these burns were planned to reduce fuel loads, such as dead vegetation and thick brush, to lessen the risk of wildfires.

Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA) stated that its Fire Emergency Services personnel are working closely with local fire departments to ensure that any future burns occur safely and within the planned timeline.

Crews will assess weather conditions before commencing any burns.

JBSA-Camp Bullis, located in North Bexar County near Interstate 10 and Loop 1604, spans 27,000 acres. The area includes ranges, training areas, and wildlands used by service members for training.
