Motorcyclist killed after speeding, lane-splitting in West Side crash has been identified

Police cars at night (KPRC/Click2Houston.com)SAN ANTONIO – A motorcyclist killed on the West Side was speeding and lane-splitting before the crash, according to witnesses and San Antonio police.
The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the motorcyclist as 20-year-old Jay Patino on Thursday.
The crash happened just after 2 p.m. Wednesday on U.S. Highway 90 near Hunt Lane.
A preliminary report from SAPD said Patino lost control of his motorcycle, veered into the center grassy median and crashed into metal cables.
Patino was thrown from the motorcycle and was tangled in the cables, according to the report.
Patino died from multiple blunt-force injuries, the medical examiner’s office said.
Portions of U.S. Highway 90 were closed for several hours near the crash.
