The crash happened around 5 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Higgins Road and Uhr Lane.

SAPD said Jones was driving a yellow 2014 Honda Goldwing.

Jones was traveling southeast on Higgins Road when he disregarded a stop sign at a four-way stop, according to police. This led to a collision with a black 2010 Nissan Xterra that was turning left from Uhr Lane onto Higgins Road.

The impact redirected the Honda, causing it to strike a black 2017 Chevrolet Corvette that was in the turn lane preparing to make a left turn onto Uhr Road, SAPD said.

Jones was ejected from the Honda Goldwing and hit the curb. He succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the medical examiner’s office, Jones died from blunt force injuries. His death was ruled an accident.

No charges are pending in this case.
