Man cooks his own meal at Waffle House because staff is sleeping

WEST COLUMBIA, S.C. – A man cooked his own meal at Waffle House after he went in the restaurant and found the staff asleep.

Alex Bowen made himself a double Texas bacon cheesesteak with extra pickles Thursday night when he found employees at South Carolina Waffle House sleeping on the job.

"I give all the credit to my old friend vodka," Bowen said to WHIO News.

Bowen said he looked around outside after finding the restaurant empty and found an employee sleeping when he went back in.

He waited “a couple more minutes and got hot on the grill,” according to his Facebook post.

Don’t worry, Bowen posted a photo a few hours later of him returning to the Waffle House to pay for his meal.
