Rosie Robledo—who proudly goes by Rosie—is a student at McCollum High School in the Harlandale District, and her journey has been nothing short of inspiring. Diagnosed with Kleefstra syndrome, doctors once said she might never walk or talk and would need full-time care. But Rosie had other plans. Through years of hard work, therapy, and the incredible support from her schools and community, Rosie has beaten the odds. She began walking at 7 with support, competes in Special Olympics where she’s earned gold medals, and was even recognized by her district. This year, she went to prom and danced with her friends—something I’ll never forget. And now, the moment we’ve been waiting for—Rosie will be walking the stage at graduation alongside her PE partners and best friends. Thank you, KSAT 12, for letting me share Rosie’s story. 💛
