SAN ANTONIO – Erhard Guenther, youngest son of Pioneer Flour Mill founder CH Guenther, was president of the company during the depression years. Because the Guenther family had not overextended the company during their expansion in the 20s, they were able to stay strong when the Great Depression hit San Antonio with full force in 1931.
