Victor Wembanyama effect sells out NBA Europe games in Paris, Manchester

Wembanyama fever grips Europe

The Victor Wembanyama effect is already sweeping across Europe, and the San Antonio Spurs haven’t even tipped off yet.

Months before the Spurs head overseas for the 2026-27 season, the NBA announced that both of their upcoming regular-season games against the New Orleans Pelicans have officially sold out.

“The NBA Paris Game 2027 presented by Tissot and the NBA Manchester Game 2027 are officially sold out. Approximately 1 million fans registered their interest in tickets, the highest level of demand ever recorded for NBA games in Europe,” the NBA posted on social media.

As the Spurs kick off training camp next week, fans abroad are racing to secure their seats. The buzz is unprecedented, and the stage is set for a massive European showcase when the teams clash in Paris and Manchester this January.

The game in Paris, France, will be held at Accor Arena, which seats 15,609 fans for basketball.

The matchup in Manchester, England, will take place at Co-op Live, which holds up to 23,500 spectators, making it the largest indoor basketball venue in Europe.
