SAN ANTONIO – While Spurs nation awaits Tim Duncan's official announcement whether to retire or return, his lawyers may have left behind a small clue about the future of the Spurs star big man.

During the hearing, Duncan's counsel requested a trial date for next summer so Duncan would not miss any playing time, according to the San Antonio Express-News.
The future Spurs Hall-of-Famer is 39 years old, but coming off another All-Star level regular season.
In the playoffs, Duncan averaged 18 points, 11 rebounds and 3 assists per game during the Spurs first round series loss to the Los Angeles Clippers.
Besides Duncan, Manu Ginobili is expected also decide soon whether he will retire or return for another season.
The Spurs are expected to make several offseason moves as only five players on last season's roster; Tony Parker, Patty Mills, Boris Diaw, Tiago Splitter and Kyle Anderson are under contract for next season.
Kawhi Leonard is likely to sign a max deal to stay in San Antonio and the Spurs are expected to pursue signing a big name free agent, either LaMarcus Aldridge or Marc Gasol, to help the team make another title run.
Duncan has publicly said he would take his time before announcing his decision to retire or return for another season or two.
