Trinity University dining hall staff members stay overnight to serve food to around 1,100 students
SAN ANTONIO โ Trinity University dining hall staffers chose to stay overnight and continue to feed students on campus as a historic winter storm swept the area. Tess Coody-Anders, Trinityโs vice president for strategic communications and marketing, said 14 Aramark dining services team members volunteered to stay on campus. โFor their own safety, but also because despite our campus being shut down, we have residents who live on campus and depend on Mabee dining hall for dining services,โ Coody-Anders said. According to Coody-Anders, about half of the 14 crew members stayed overnight on Sunday in available on-campus dorms while the other half decided to set up camp in Mabee Dining Hall. โAnd we really could not appreciate their going the extra mile more.โTo ensure COVID-19 saftey protocols for dining students and overnight staffers, Coody-Anders said officials had created โdifferent rooms and partitionsโ within the dining hall to create safer dining spaces.

Cone said the district had already gone from 75% to 90% of its 3,200 students who had to return to school. โWeโve had a couple of positive cases this week, all contracted outside of the school district,โ Cone said. Not only does the district perform deep cleaning nightly, but Cone also said similar precautions are taken throughout the day. He said the district trusts that all of them will watch for symptoms, quarantine if necessary, and get tested.
