I never imagined wed be in this place, but [feel] so blessed and fortunate to be able to contribute to the conversation, DuVernay tells ETs Kevin Frazier. A lot of people have sought it out, she continues, commending those who are rewatching it or just discovering it for the first time. Meanwhile, DuVernay is using her platform and the renewed interest in these projects to affect change in the way stories about law enforcement are told moving forward. The police unions dont hold them accountable, police departments dont, and the courts dont.
