GIRLS SOCCER: Smithson Valley faces Grapevine in first UIL Class 5A State appearance

Taking the pitch at Birkelbach Field in Georgetown for the program’s first UIL State tournament appearance, the Smithson Valley girls faced off against the defending UIL Class 5A state runners-up Grapevine. Despite Sabrina Taber’s remarkable goal 29 seconds into the match, the Rangers fell 2-1 in overtime, ending their historic season with a 27-1 overall record.
