Funeral service held for soldier who died trying to rescue migrants

The Texas National Guard member who died trying to save migrants from drowning in the Rio Grande is now laid to rest after a funeral service on Saturday. The funeral for Bishop Evans was held in Arlington, followed by his burial services at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Evans was posthumously promoted to the rank of sergeant. The 22-year-old drowned attempting to rescue two migrants crossing the Rio Grande River on April 22. His body was recovered and identified on Monday.
