Woman sentenced to 10 years probation after taking plea deal in fatal drunk-driving crash

A woman facing charges for a fatal drunk-driving crash was sentenced to 10 years of probation after taking a plea deal in court on Tuesday. The case goes back to 2019, when Gavin Walence was killed. According to court records, Violetta Martinez was driving on I-35 when she crashed into Walence's vehicle. He was thrown from the car and died at the scene. Martinez later failed a field sobriety test.
