How to escape food deserts, food swamps in San Antonio area

The City of San Antonio and the San Antonio Food Bank has separate programs with the same goal: Increase healthy food options in areas of town known as “food deserts,” which are defined by the U.S. Department of Agriculture as low-income areas where the nearest grocery store is more than a mile away.
