Ex-sergeant did not ask for mental health officers after Melissa Perez shooting, SAPD detective says

SAPD Detective Deanna Platt, who took down former Sgt. Alfred Flores’ statement after the 2023 deadly shooting of Melissa Perez, testified that Flores did not seek help from mental health officers on June 23, 2023. SAPD Chief William McManus later said that Perez was experiencing a mental health crisis at the time of the shooting.
