Western Heritage Weekend returns with Stampede 5K, Longhorn Parade and Vaquero Cookoff

The San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo’s Western Heritage Weekend includes the Stampede 5K and the Longhorn Parade on Feb. 7, along with the Vaquero Cookoff. The Western Heritage Parade & Cattle Drive began in 2008 and has become a free downtown tradition featuring longhorn cattle, horses and heritage groups — canceled only once in 2021 due to COVID-19 — with the route typically starting near I-35 and Houston Street and traveling through downtown toward the Alamo or La Villita.
