A 40 year prison sentence for New Braunfels foster and adoptive mom Susan Helton. She was convicted of injury to a child for abusing and neglecting two of her seven adopted children.  The Comal County District Attorney's Office said she put the children in makeshift cages and did not feed them enough food. When they were removed from the house the 14-year-old girl weighted 40 pounds and the 13-year-old boy weighed 50 pounds.  We are following the details of this case.
