Woman sentenced to 40 years for malnourished children put in makeshift cages;mother defends daughter

EXCLUSIVE: Interview with Ellen Helton, whose daughter, Susan Helton, was just sentenced to 40 years in prison for abusing and neglecting two adopted children. The District Attorney's office said Susan starved the kids and put them in cages when they would try to "steal food." The kids were removed in 2018, including the 14-year-old girl who weighed 40 pounds. KSAT's Courtney Friedman knocked on the door of that home, and Ellen answered, inviting Courtney inside and defending her daughter's actions.
