Man dies by suicide in police custody

San Antonio Police Chief William McManus gives an update on a police chase that started on the south side and ended on the north side behind North Star Mall. After police caught up with the suspect he ran a short distance where police caught and cuffed him and placed him in the back of a patrol vehicle. While in that patrol unit he pulled out his own gun and shot himself. KSAT if following this story on air and online.
