H-E-B warns of coupon scam on social media

SAN ANTONIO – Grocer giant H-E-B is not giving consumers a 50 percent discount.

The link, containing the promised discount, popped up on social media sites Facebook and Twitter on Saturday.

The grocer then turned to its own social media sites to inform shoppers the coupon is a scam.

To get the coupon credit the post for the fake ad asks for people to like the post and then share it with the word “thanks.”

To avoid scams consumers should avoid links and posts with similar promises if they do not come directly from the retailer.
