University of Texas at San Antonio
UTSA is the largest university in San Antonio with more than 28,000 students. The university, established in 1969, offers 162 degree programs.
Tuition for Texas residents at UTSA was $18,298 for the 2014-2015 school year, compared to out-of-state students, who paid $27,348.
University of Phoenix, San Antonio
The University of Phoenix is an open-enrollment university that requires a GED or high school diploma for admission. There are more than 60 campuses worldwide, specializing in online education for students with career and family commitments.
Tuition for all students at the University of Phoenix, San Antonio was $17,478 for the 2014-2015 school year. Students who live at home paid $11,248.
University of the Incarnate Word
The private Catholic university was founded in 1881 by the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word. The average class size is approximately 25 students, with a total student population of about 10,000.

Texas State University

Texas Lutheran University
TLU was established in 1891 in Seguin, Texas. Classes average fewer than 20 students, with a small overall student population around 1,400. TLU offers an education based on a Christianity-driven perspective

Trinity University
Trinity University has fewer than 2,500 undergraduate students from 70 different countries, and 97 percent of the faculty hold doctoral or terminal degrees. Trinity offers a student-to-teacher ratio of nine to one, with options of 42 majors and 57 minors degree programs.

Texas A&M University San Antonio
Texas A&M at San Antonio is a stand-alone university that was established in 2009. The university currently enrolls more than 4,500 students and offers 22 undergraduate programs and 10 graduate degree programs. A&M San Antonio has an older student population, with an average student age of 32. St. Mary’s University of San Antonio
St. Mary’s has a 55 percent acceptance rate for undergraduate admissions. The university was opened in 1852 by the Brothers of the Society of Mary. The student-to-teacher ratio is 11 to one.

The Art Institute of San Antonio
AISA is a branch of the Art Institute of Houston, offering design, media arts, fashion and culinary degrees. The campus features a student-run restaurant that is open to the public.

Alamo Colleges, St. Phillip’s, San Antonio, Palo Alto, Northwest Vista, Northeast Lakeview
The five colleges offer associate degrees and licensures in many different programs. Most credits transfer to four-year colleges and universities in Texas.
Tuition for Texas residents at the Alamo Colleges was $15,774 for the 2014-2015 school year, compared to out-of-state students who paid $20,964. Students who live at home paid $7,584.
