Water issue prompts early release of Hondo schools

Students to be released at noon Wednesday

HONDO, Texas – All schools in the Hondo Independent School District will close at noon Wednesday.

Hondo ISD Superintendent A'Lann Truelock said low water pressure is causing health and safety issues.

Truelock said bus routes will run at noon and students who are not picked up on the bus routes will be taken back to their schools.

Truelock said city officials informed her of a power outage at the city's water well, and when it was restarted, one of the pumps failed to work, causing the low water pressure.
