“Knowing that Cheatham Street's legacy will stay intact under the love and care of Randy Rogers fills all of our hearts,” Jenni Finlay said. “Randy came up performing at dad's beloved songwriters night and it's only fitting that he takes the helm. We're so excited about the next chapter for Cheatham Street.”

The Cheateam Street stage is most well-known for giving a start to George Strait, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Rogers.

“Randy Rogers' career began on the Cheatham Street Warehouse stage,” said Gregg Andrews, Cheatham Street Music Foundation's board of directors president. “His devotion and loyalty to Kent as a songwriting mentor has never wavered, and he's fully committed to preserving Kent's outstanding legacy.”

“I plan on honoring Kent in every way with my plans and vision for Cheatham,” Rogers said to the family. “This means so much to me personally.”

Artists who have also crossed the stage include Willie Nelson, Ernest Tubb, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Guy Clark, Billy Joe Shaver and Townes Van Zandt.
