Local BBQ joint showcases menu full of San Antonio flavors

Flavor Favs: King's Hwy Brew & Q

SAN ANTONIO – Located at 1012 N. Flores, King's Hwy Brew & Q is becoming a place to stop for some good bbq.

At first a food truck called Sweet Christi's BBQ, Emilio Soliz and his wife would later set up shop at a place formally known as Tap Y Tapas.

In business for about eight months, pit master Soliz showcases a mouthwatering menu.

"It's a little different than what people are used to for Texas BBQ," Soliz said. "It is Texas style BBQ but it is more San Antonio flavor to it."

On the menu are a variety of options like brisket, pulled pork and even tortas.

"Not that many people use BBQ in a torta so we thought we do that," Soliz said.

King's Hwy is also doing something other BBQ joints don't do and that's a brunch on Sundays.

That menu features a brisket hash, pulled pork palenta and biscuits with gravy.

Not only a hidden gem, but this place is a must try for every BBQ enthusiast.
