Mayor: Hulu may expand to San Antonio; create hundreds of jobs

San Antonio in running to be newest home of Hulu's expanded offices

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio is one of two cities in the running to be the newest home of Hulu's expanded offices, the mayor confirmed after a meeting in Los Angeles.

City officials said the deal could translate into 300 jobs in 2017 and up to 500 in the years to follow.

"We are always actively pursuing companies throughout the U.S. and the world," Mayor Ivy R. Taylor said. "In this case, we made a pitch for Hulu to expand to San Antonio and bring with it hundreds of good-paying, high-tech jobs."

Hulu is a video-streaming service that offers full-length movies and TV shows.

The announcement comes on the same day city and county leaders approved incentives to keep a local IT health company in San Antonio.
