1 dead, 2 injured in shooting at Northwest Side Walmart

Telles Juarez, 21, to be charged with murder, aggravated assault

SAN ANTONIOUPDATE: Family of the man shot and killed at the Walmart on Vance Jackson identified him as 39-year-old Isidro Zarate

One person is dead and two people are injured following a shooting at a Northwest Side Walmart on Vance Jackson Road near Interstate 10.

San Antonio police Chief William McManus said it started as what appeared to be a domestic dispute.

Police said 21-year-old Teles Juarez assaulted a woman in the parking lot of the Walmart when a good Samaritan intervened.

Juarez then pulled out a weapon and fired multiple rounds. Bullets killed the unidentified good Samaritan and struck another woman in the parking lot, and shrapnel hit a woman in the passenger seat of a green Toyota. The man who was shot and killed was the driver of that Toyota.

McManus said the woman being assaulted got away, and Juarez was arrested near Castroville and Cupples roads shortly after the shooting.

Police said Juarez will be charged with murder and aggravated assault.

The identity of the man who was shot has not been released yet.
