SAN ANTONIO – Police arrested two people Thursday evening in connection with the April 3 murder of Ronald Lane Schubert, 35.
Jennifer Jennings, 37, Schubert's girlfriend, and Arthur Villarreal, 43, are both facing murder charges in Schubert's death.
Police found Schubert dead in an apartment in the 6600 block of Fairdale on April 4 after responding to a welfare check. Schubert died from a gunshot wound.
Police originally interviewed Jennings after the murder and followed up after her alibi did not check out. During a subsequent interview, Jennings admitted to police that Villarreal killed Schubert.
Investigators said Jennings had been trying to get Schubert out of her apartment for some time and she and Villarreal had mentioned "taking him out" as a solution.
They would not reveal what Villarreal said under questioning, adding that more arrests are possible.
