What you need to know about this weekend's Rock 'n' Roll Marathon

More than 26,000 runners expected to take part

SAN ANTONIO – More than 26,000 runners from all 50 states and 12 countries are expected to run the 9th annual Humana Rock 'n' Roll San Antonio Marathon this weekend. Here's what you need to know about the event.

The Humana Rock 'n' Roll 10K will start at 8:45 a.m. Saturday at the Alamodome and finish on Alamo Plaza.

Official race day is Sunday, Dec. 4 with the marathon, half-marathon, relay and 5K start taking place. The start time is 7:30 a.m.

The start line to the marathon is East Commerce St & Navarro St, with the finish Line located on South Alamo St & East Cesar Chavez Blvd.

Local bands will perform on entertainment stages along the course as local cheerleading squads line the route and compete in the Spirit on the Course competition.

The band Guster is headlining the post race Toyota Rock 'n' Roll Concert Series.

KSAT 12 will have a crew at the event. KSAT.com will also be livestreaming the race and have full-coverage online.

Parking information: 

Streets along the race course will be marked with No Parking signs. Vehicles in violation of these posted signs will be ticketed and towed at the owners’ expense.
