Argument over trash triggers shooting, police say

One man injured in shooting at Public Storage on Blanco Road

SAN ANTONIO – An argument over trash escalated into a shooting Tuesday morning that left one man injured and police looking for the gunman.

A maintenance worker at the Escondido Village Apartments told police that four men were at a Public Storage in the 7200 block of Blanco Road around 9:15 a.m. and tried to dump trash over the fence and into a dumpster on the apartment complex property.

The worker told the men that they were not allowed to use the dumpster, police said.

An argument ensued, and another man overheard the argument and opened fire, wounding one of the men several times, police said.

The shooter ran off, police said. He was described as a man in his mid-20s wearing a yellow shirt and black shorts.

The maintenance worker told police that he had never seen the man before, police said.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call police.
