Arson investigating after overnight fire on SW Side

Call was reported around 9:40 a.m. in 4800 block of West Military Dr.

SAN ANTONIO – Arson investigators are looking into what caused a fire and explosion overnight, fire officials said Tuesday.

The call was reported around 9:40 a.m. in the 4800 block of West Military Drive, found on the city's Southwest Side.

Firefighters said when they arrived there was smoke and fire coming from a building behind a VFW Lodge.

Officials said its likely that some propane tanks exploded.

Firefighters said it took about 40 minutes to put out the blaze.

There is no word on how much damage was caused.

The investigation is ongoing.
