Attempted robber stabbed, run over, killed on city's South Side

SAN ANTONIO – A man is dead after he tried to rob a San Antonio restaurant, was stabbed and then run over by two cars. 

According to San Antonio police, the man went into the J. Anthony's Seafood restaurant on South Presa Street around midnight Sunday. He demanded money from the cash register and proceeded to get into an argument with an employee, said police. 

Police said the employee pulled out a knife in an attempt to protect the restaurant. The employee stabbed the man multiple times, said police. 

The man ran out of the restaurant and into the street, where he was struck by a car and killed instantly. 

Police said while the man was lying in the street, a second car hit him. 

The medical examiner is working on identifying the man.
