BCSO arrests man in cold case murder

Lisa Carter found burned to death along W.W. White Road

SAN ANTONIO – The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest in an 18-month-old cold case murder.

Antonio Nunez Jr., 61, was arrested Tuesday in connection to the murder of Lisa Carter, the sheriff’s office said.

The sheriff's office said the victim and suspect has been in and out of a relationship for several years.

Carter’s burned body was found in August 2015 along W.W. White Road. Her body had been burned beyond recognition and authorities only had distinctive jewelry to help ID the victim.

It took more than a year for authorities to get a positive ID on Carter’s DNA.

Investigators obtained a warrant on Monday and he was arrested without incident at his home on Rosa Street.

Nunez has a criminal record, according to the sheriff's office.
