BCSO investigating body found in Medina River

Man's car found earlier this week

SAN ANTONIO – The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office said a body was found in the Medina River Friday evening, near I-35 and Fischer Road in southwest Bexar County.

The man’s family sought help from the sheriff’s office after his vehicle was found in a nearby area earlier this week. Deputies started their search around 2:30 p.m. Friday.

During the deputies’ search, a cadaver dog alerted them to a body in the river.

Officials said there’s no evidence of foul play in this case. They’ll continue investigating.

The missing man is from Brownsville,Texas, but his identity has not been released. 

The Bexar County medical examiner’s office will perform an autopsy on the body.
