BCSO patrol cadet arrested on assault charges

Marisa Alcarez arrested on warrant for assault with bodily injury/married

BEXAR COUNTY, Texas – A Bexar County Sheriff's Office patrol cadet was arrested on an assault charge Wednesday night.

Marisa Alcarez, 32, was taken into custody without incident at the BCSO Academy in south Bexar County, Sheriff's Office spokesman James Keith said.

Alcarez was wanted on a warrant for assault with bodily injury/married, according to Keith.

"(It) appears to be some sort of a domestic violence case," he said.

Alcarez was a former deputy who used to work in the jail and was in training to be a patrol deputy when she was arrested, Keith said.

An internal investigation is being conducted.
