SAN ANTONIO – Gail Hathaway, the executive director of Workforce Solutions Alamo, was terminated from her post on Monday.
When the board of trustees came out of executive session, board chair Rudy Garza stated, "It is frustrating, failing to meet Texas Workforce Commission standards … As a result of the weaknesses of the leadership, I am recommending a change of leadership at Workforce Solutions Alamo."
Hathaway declined to talk to KSAT after the decision.
Garza released this statement on Monday afternoon:
"The decision to terminate employment is based, in part, on the findings of a monitor's report prepared by the Texas Workforce Commission issued on Oct. 19, 2016. That report found discrepancies in procurement procedures and allegations of a hostile workplace environment."
Alan Miller, a retired Workforce executive, will take over as interim executive director as the board opens up the search process.
