SAN ANTONIO – The Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office has identified Ashton Lane Morris, 27, as the person shot and killed Sunday by a San Antonio police officer.
Police said Morris was attempting to steal a woman's car at the Selina Inn motel on Old Highway 90 when the shooting happened.

According to police, Morris fired several shots at an officer as he was trying to run away.
The officer returned fire, hitting Morris, who died in surgery at University Hospital.
The officer was not injured.
