Vandals tip business' Smart Car, police say

SAN ANTONIO – Police in New Braunfels are asking for the public's help in tracking down the people responsible for a recent string of criminal mischief incidents, including the tipping over of a Smart Car, which was caught on surveillance video.

Investigators said there have also been reports of smashed car windows and windshields, broken home windows and at least one other car-tipping incident.

The car tipping that was caught on camera took place around 2:30 a.m. on Dec. 27 in the 200 block of Stone Gate.

Police said the vandals tipped a blue Smart Car that belonged to a nearby business. Damage to the car totaled about $2,500. The vandals were wearing shirts over their faces, police said.

Comal County Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information on the vandals is asked to call 830-620-8477, text “Comal” plus your tip to CRIMES (274637), or submit a tip online here.
