SAN ANTONIO – A man and woman crashed their car and then were hit by another car while they waited for help, police said.
The crash happened about 12:30 a.m. Sunday.
San Antonio police said the couple's car hit a guardrail on Interstate 10 West near Boerne Stage Road. The car bounced off the railing and into the street.
Police said the couple could not move the car, so they were standing on a grassy median while waiting for assistance. They said an oncoming car tried to avoid hitting the stalled car and instead hit the man and woman.
The driver of the other vehicle then crashed into a guardrail, police said.
The man and woman were taken to University Hospital in critical condition.
Police said the investigation is ongoing.
